Tuesday 20th August 2019Turkish Window
‘Turkish Window’ was painted quite recently – though I worked from a photograph I took when I was visiting Dacca with Alison a while ago. A memory of a place can nag at me until I paint it, and this was such a case.
The landscape in Turkey was dotted with small farmhouses for seasonal workers and this abandoned cottage, with its glimpse of a view, compelled me to paint it. This is part of six new paintings that I am showing in the gallery from next week. 'Turkish Window' is also available as a print.
